DX-C390 - CD playback skips.
The DX-C390 contains a microcomputer for signal processing and control functions. In very rare situations, severe interference, noise from an external source, or static electricity may cause it to lockup. In the unlikely event that this should happen, unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, wait at least five seconds, and then plug it back in again.
- Install the DX-C390 somewhere free of vibration
- Remove the disc and clean it
- Buy a new disc
- Perform a power cycle

Brand new system. After just a few weeks, CD playback skips sporadically. Followed troubleshooting steps. Wondering if there could be debris inside the unit from manufacture/shipping as a cause. Please advise.
System is about 10 years old and has done me well. However, it has started skipping and it won't release the disk that it is skipping. Tried multiple things but no luck. Other than smashing it on the driveway what should I do?
Cathy Hi, This is Cindy Brasel. No one ever responded to my comment on this particular page. I found the "Submit a Request" to be more useful. Onkyo actually communicated with me through that route. You'll see the button at the top right side of the webpage. Best of luck to you.
