A-9150 - Using the Integrated Amplifier as a Power Amplifier

The integrated amplifier can be used as a power amplifier.  This is an example of connection using the Onkyo preamplifier (sold separately). Only the MAIN IN jacks and SPEAKERS jacks are used.

1. Connect an RCA cable to the MAIN IN jacks.
2. After all connections are complete, turn on the power.
3. Turn the INPUT dial to change the input source to "MAIN IN".  The MAIN IN LED flashes.
4. Press DIRECT or ENTER on the remote controller.  The MAIN IN LED lights.

Tip

• Do not connect a source device (CD device, etc.) to the MAIN IN jack. Doing so may produce high- volume sound that can damage the unit, speakers, and various other devices.
• When this unit is to be used as a power amplifier, "Adjusting the Bass, Treble and Balance" and “Using the PHASE MATCHING BASS Function” are not available. Headphones also cannot be used.
• Adjust the volume on the pre-amplifier as you will not be able to adjust it on this unit.
• If this unit is being used as a power amplifier and input is switched to "MAIN IN", then if the volume of the connected preamplifier is low, auto standby may function and the power may automatically switch to standby. If this happens, you may be able to fix it by increasing the volume on the preamplifier.
