Can I connect Bluetooth headphones to my receiver?
If your receiver was made prior to 2021 then you would not have the ability to connect a Bluetooth headphones without a additional transmitter to be connected to the receiver. Models made 2021 to present have the ability of a built in transmitter that you would be able to connect your bluetooth headphones to playback the source audio that is playing the receiver.

If I can’t connect Bluetooth headphones, why does the illustration show the TX-NR7100 connecting on pg 66 of the instruction pdf? If it does connect with Bluetooth headphones, how?
Hello Richard,
I'm sorry but the FAQ needs some modifications. Prior models from the TXNR7100 didn't have the abilities to transmit the audio back to bluetooth headphones. However, the TXNR7100 has the ability of transmitting back to bluetooth headphones. Pg 66 within the TXNR7100 manual is the correct steps to follow to connect a bluetooth headphones so that you can listen to the music from the sources that are playing through the receiver.
Is there any way to have sound coming from the speakers as well as a Bluetooth connection? For example, I want to watch a football game on the main screen with sound, while someone else in the house listens in on the game through Bluetooth headphones, or a Bluetooth speaker in a different room. Is this possible? This is on a TX NR6050.
Most receivers even my auto receiver in order to receive sound on the speakers and Bluetooth the receiver will output the same sound on multiple outputs when the Bluetooth device is paired and enabled while the same sound is being sent out. An onkyo receiver should do the same. The only time it could send different sound to different outputs is if the receiver has a 2nd audio channel. My TX-NR6100 has that.
My tx-sr494 was purchased in 2024, did this mean that it has the built in transmitter?
Hello Matt,
Unfortunately, the TXSR494 only the receive(RX) on the Bluetooth function. The unit that starts with the Bluetooth Transmit and Receive is the TXNR51009 https://onkyo.com/home-cinema/av-receivers/tx-nr5100).
Thank you
Jennifer
