Here is the link https://onkyo.com/tx-nr646 to the product page that has the selection for the firmware. In there provides the instructions along with the firmware update. The last update was 12/2020. However, if your having issue with the unit then the unit would have to go into service https://onkyo.com/service-centers. If the parts are not available we are currently running a special(12/16/24) on some models on our site, https://onkyo.com/home-cinema/av-receivers .

I have a Onkyo TX-NR646 AV Receiver. On the CBL/SAT screen it shows a red symbol. What does this mean? How can I remove it?

Will there ever be another firmware update to the TX-NR646?
The last one is apparently '1110-6060-1106' from 2020!
I'm having problem with AirPlay and connecting to my WiFi.
Unfortunately, there is no more firmware updates available for the TXNR646. Also for the link that you had provided was the firmware 1110-6060-1106 that was removed off the site. What is the issue that you are having with the WiFi and Airplay?

I managed to get it (the transceiver) to connect to my MacBook (Monterey, 12.7.6) initially by triggering it from the transceiver ("Setup from iOS device" or something like that).
It worked for about two, three seconds, then it (the transceiver) "vanished" and I can't get my MacBook to connect again.
As for WiFi, that don't work at all, even though they're on the same network and all details look ok in the network details "page", I can't connect (or see) the transceiver from any of my devices, nor does the transceiver seem to "see" the network..

It sounds like it's the internal networks hardware that is the issue within the receiver. Unfortunately, due to the age of the receiver there is no parts available for the unit to get repaired.

One question about the TX-NR646.
From the last firmware update, it is not possible to enable the HDMI 4K enhanced to get 4K HDR.
Before that update, we could do it combining the keys BD/DVD plus power button.
How could I enable the 4K HDR or the HDMI 4K enhanced? I was thinking about to downgrade the firmware but that is not possible anymore from the last update.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance,
