A-5VL Remote Control
Please read the following for remote control functions and remote control button descriptions.
Point the remote controller toward the remote control sensor.
- Do not expose the remote control sensor to strong light, such as direct sunlight or inverted fluorescent light
- Using the unit near equipment that emits infrared beams or with another remote controller may cause malfunctions
- Make sure that the audio rack does not have colored glass, as this could prevent the remote controller from functioning properly
- The remote controller will not function if there are obstacles between it and the remote control sensor
- Do not place objects such as books on top of the remote controller
- Doing so could depress the buttons on the remote continually and drain the batteries
- Mode Button-You can display track information from mounted devices on the monitor
- Display Button-This button illuminates the iPod's backlight
- Playlist Button-Use this button to switch the current playlist
- Menu Button-Use this button to return to the previous iPod menu screen.
- Navigation Buttons-
- Press the up and down buttons to select tracks and operate the iPod menu
- Press the left and right buttons to move the track up or down on the iPod
- Press and hold to fast reverse or fast forward
- Select Button-Use this button to make menu selections on the iPod
- Play/Pause Button-Use this button to start and pause playback on the iPod
- Album Button-Use this button to switch the album to play back
- Shuffle Button-Use this button to switch the shuffle mode
- Repeat Button-Use this button to switch the repeat mode
- Band Button (Tuner Mode)-Use this button to switch the reception band (FM/AM)
- Mode Button (Tuner Mode)-Use this button to switch the reception mode when receiving FM broadcasts
- Preset Button (Tuner Mode)-Use this button to select a preset broadcast station
- Pause Button (CD Mode)-Use this button to pause playback
- Reverse Skip Button (CD Mode)-Use this button to skip to the beginning of the track being played back
- Play Button (CD Mode)-Use this button to play back
- Forward Skip (CD Mode)-Use this button to skip to the beginning of the next track
- Reverse Button (CD Mode)-Use this button to fast reverse
- Stop Button (CD Mode)-Use this button to stop playback
- Forward Button (CD Mode)-Use this button to fast forward
- Volume Button-Use this button to fast forward
- Muting Button-Toggle audio between previous and minimum volume
Please Note
- This mode can be used to control an iPod mounted on an connected Onkyo RI dock
- * Features marked with an asterisk (*) are not available with third-generation iPods

If the remote controller does not work:
- Make sure that the batteries are installed with the correct polarity.
- Install two new batteries
- Make sure that the remote controller is not too far away from the unit, and that
there is no obstruction between the unit and the remote controller - Make sure that the unit's remote control sensor is not exposed to bright light
(inverted fluorescent light or direct sunlight) - Make sure that the audio rack does not have colored or tinted glass. Doing so could
prevent the remote controller from functioning properly
