A-5VL-Connecting to an AM/FM Tuner

Please read the following to connect an AM/FM Tuner to the A-5VL Integrated Amplifier. 

!Caution!

• Be sure to connect the audio cable when using an RI connection
• The tuner's timer feature is not available when using an RI connection

To Connect:

Connect the AM/FM tuner's audio outputs to the unit's Tuner inputs.

1. RI Any Onkyo AM/FM tuner with the proper terminals can be connected
   1. A connected tuner can be controlled via the unit's remote controller
2. Use an RI cable to connect the unit's RI terminal with the tuner's terminal
3. Connect the unit's audio in terminal with the tuner's audio out terminal
   
   

If there is no audio when connecting this unit to a cassette or MiniDisc recorder:

• Make sure that the cables are connected correctly.
• Make sure that none of the cables are kinked or damaged.
• Make sure that the input device is selected correctly. 
• If the muting indicator is lighted up, cancel mute mode by pressing the muting button on the remote controller.

If there is distortion or noise in the audio:

• Do not bundle audio cables with power cords and the like, because doing so may
  degrade audio performance.
• An audio cable may be picking up interference. Try repositioning your cables.
